This Heritage Building at 1312-1314 Government Street was built in 1892 by architect John Teague for the New England Hotel. It was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 1975.
This building was renovated into a mixed use commercial/residential strata in 2013-2014. The Victoria Real Estate Board issued an award for commercial strata conversion in 2014.

This Heritage Building at 1312-1314 Government Street was built in 1892 by architect John Teague for the New England Hotel. It was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places in 1975.
This building replaced an earlier New England Hotel building which had stood on this site since 1858. This is the reason for the “Established 1858” decorative feature on the Government Street facade.
This building was renovated into a mixed use commercial/residential strata in 2013-2014. The Victoria Real Estate Board issued an award for commercial strata conversion in 2014.
In 1975, this building was listed on the Canadian Register of Historic Places as the New England Hotel.
The Russell Block, 1316-1328 Government Street / 589 Johnson Street
The Russell Block, 1316-1328 Government Street and 589 Johnson Street, was built in 1878 and 1888 by architect John Teague, who also designed and built 1312-1314 Government Street.
