855 Pemberton Road was built in 1906-1907 by Alfred Cornelius Flumerfelt, a financier who maintained an office in 1022 Government Street. The design for this house has been attributed to architect William D’Orly Rochfort but that cannot be stated with certainty.

855 Pemberton Road was built in 1906-1907 by Alfred Cornelius Flumerfelt, a financier who maintained an office in 1022 Government Street. The design for this house has been attributed to architect William D’Orly Rochfort but that cannot be stated with certainty.
In 1926 Alfred Cornelius Flumerfelt married his widowed neighbour Lola Grierson and moved into her nearby house at 906 Pemberton Road, where he lived until his death in 1930.
Later occupants included the Hon. E. Pooley.

906 Pemberton Road was built in 1910-1911 by architect Samuel Maclure for Edward and Lola Grierson. Alfred Cornelius Flumerfelt, who had built 855 Pemberton Road, moved here when he married Lola Grierson in 1926.
