As part of our series on Historic Victoria Advertisements, Beer, Wine & Liquor, 1910-1919, here is a 1910 advertisement by the Capital City Wine Store, 1327 Douglas Street, at the intersection of Douglas Street and Johnson Street.

Notice the advertisement mentions home delivery of alcohol, something alcohol vendors in B.C. are not permitted to do today. Nor would today’s B.C. liquor vendors be allowed to claim health benefits for alcohol, as this 1910 advertisement does.
1327 Douglas Street is still standing. It is in the Craft & Norris Block, 1319-1329 Douglas Street.
